Lifeguarding Classes

  • Student must attend all sessions of the class in its entirety in order to be eligible for certification
  • Student must be at least 15 years old by the last date of class or otherwise communicated
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority going to future York lifeguards. 
  • Student must pass the swimming prerequisites to continue with the class.
  • Registration fee is due at the time of registration to secure your spot. Refunds are not issued if the student cannot pass the class.             
  • Students must pass ALL (written and skills) tests to be certified as a lifeguard
  • Must have at least 4 participants registered per session to continue, max per class is 12 participants

​Session 1 Lifeguard Class
Sunday, February 5 | 5:00-6:00 pm (Prerequisites – Swim 300 meters, tread water, dive for brick)
Sunday, February 12 | 8:00 am-6:00 pm
York Residents Fee: $100 - Online Registration
Non-York Residents Fee: $200 - Online Registration

Session 2 Lifeguard Class                              
Sunday, March 12 | 7:00-8:00 pm (Prerequisites – Swim 300 meters, tread water, dive for brick)
Sunday, March 19 | 8:00 am-6:00 pm
York Residents Fee: $100 - Online Registration
Non-York Residents Fee: $200 - Online Registration           

Session 3 Lifeguard Class
Sunday, April 16 | 11:00 am-12:00 pm (Prerequisites – Swim 300 meters, tread water, dive for brick)
Sunday, April 23 | 8:00 am-6:00 pm 
York Residents Fee: $100 - Online Registration
Non-York Residents Fee: $200 - Online Registration​

Lifeguard Recertification Class
When:  Sunday, April 16 | 8:00 am-12:00 pm - Online Registration
Must be Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Certified and not expired for more than 30 days.
Class participants will retest on all pre-skills tests, in water skills, written tests, and final skills scenarios
Fee: $100​
